We have opened the registration for our Children Education Programme (the NEW Khmer Education Programme and the Language Education Programme) starting in October 2016.

Reading is important for all levels. Even very young students should be encouraged to look through books. Reading out loud to students, will stimulate them to build new vocabulary. It will also help them to improve their comprehension and listening skills. At SHINE we love books!

Today at SHINE we are happy to welcome back after one week break all our students to start term 3. We also have some new students that joined our Children Education Programme. The teachers will welcome them and introduce them to the other students to make them feel at home.

On Thursday 17 March our students at SHINE enjoyed their fun day. We organised several activities like football, basketball, dodge ball and dance. After that they could cool down and watch a movie.

Today we want to introduce you to Chanra. She doesn’t only help to monitor our students of reception but she is also the bus attendant. She helps our students to get safe to school and back home. In addition she participates and supports the learning of our 3 year old students at SHINE.

Today we had our first testing day of the end of term 2 at SHINE. To prevent students of cheating they are put separately and in opposite directions. Even our preschool and reception students are tested on their knowledge individually and closely monitored by the teacher.
Good luck tomorrow for all our students for the last testing day of this term.

We are almost at the end of our term 2 at SHINE. Students are preparing themselves for their final tests which will take place on Monday 14 and Tuesday 15 March. We wish all our students good luck and a good result.

SHINE’s reception students are 3-4 years old and our youngest learners. Because of their young age they have a short concentration span and so the teacher needs to frequently rotate the activities to stimulate their interest. Different activities are chosen in such a way that they also help to develop the fine motor skills of our students. On top of that studying in reception also means having fun.

Teacher assistants play a very important role in the classroom. They don’t only help to create a save environment for the students to study, but they support the students in their learning and reduce the workload of the teacher. Our preschool teacher assistant Reaksa is loved by her students and every morning she welcomes them with warm enthusiasm to start a fresh and active day.
